Sir Thomas Fairfax's Regiment of The Sealed Knot Society
welcome you to History Through The Ages at Hampton Court Castle

The Sealed Knot in action Hampton Court Castle

On the weekend of the 30th & 31st of July, the peace will be broken at Hampton Court Castle by hundreds of re-enactors descending on Herefordshire. They will be providing two full days' excitement and colour recreating events from throughout our history.

In the morning, you can experience the serenity of Hampton Court Castle with its beautiful gardens and imposing castle, followed in the afternoon by the noise and excitement of sword, musket, cannon and pike. There will be talks on the plants and flowers found in the gardens, both native and first imported during the 17th century, and their impact on today's horticulture.

There will be a large living history camp throughout the day, portraying various aspects of 17th century life.

The re-enactments start with the tribal feuds of the Iron Age and range right through to the main English Civil War battle in the afternoon. You will get the chance to see:

The kids haven't been forgotten either: after the main battle they can meet and train with the soldiers and maybe have a go at drumming.

Some of the re-enactors from Sir Thomas Fairfax's Regiment who are organising and taking part in this event will also be at the Hereford History Day on the 16th July at the Castle Green Hereford, so if you want to find out more, why not come to meet us in advance?
